Clyde E. Guinn
Senior Vice President Operations

Beginning his career during high school as a bus boy with Marriott in Washington DC, Clyde Guinn has served the hotel industry for 35 years in a broad spectrum of responsibilities including Operations, Sales and Marketing, Branding, Franchising, Asset Management, and Development.

Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Operations for Stanford Hotels, he leads an executive team that manages 13 full service hotels across the United States. Within this capacity, Guinn oversees Operations, Sales and Marketing, and Human Resources for Stanford's $200 million per year operations.

Additionally, he is heavily involved in the acquisition and divestiture side of Stanford's business, including recent acquisitions in Santa Clara, CA and Charlotte, NC. As well as dispositions in Norwalk, CA, Ontario, CA and Santa Maria, CA.

Guinn also manages Stanford's relationships with its brands, which include Marriott, Hilton and Sheraton, and sits on the Owners Advisory Committees for both Starwood and Hilton.

Guinn's operational career has included stints with Marriott, Adam's Mark, Durbin (now Cresline), Carlson and now Stanford Hotels. His general manager and subsequent multi-property responsibilities have included hotels across North America, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Asia.

Through his career, he has held numerous civic positions, including board seats on the Convention and Visitors Bureaus of both Kansas City and Charlotte, and charitable positions, working extensively with the United Way and the March of Dimes.

Guinn has taught hotel sales and marketing at the Hilton School of Hotel Management at the University of Houston and the School of Hospitality Management at Southwest Missouri State University.

Guinn holds a B.A. from Athens University and attended Tulane University's Graduate School of Business. He also is an alumna of the Executive MBA program at Rockhurst College and completed the Executive Leadership program at the University of Minnesota's Carlson Grate School of Business.

An avid student of food and wine, he has been a member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs for 24 years and has served as an officer in several Chapters across the United States.
